omg you aren't pulling my leg?!

Nice to meet you David.

And you, Pearl.

I've just realized that this ballot gives a classic example of why we should get rid of plurality voting.

Can you imagine the outrage if the binder clip fans give me a victory while the hipster indie girl fans split their votes between Amanda, Megan, Jennifer, Pearl, Lana and Christina?

Read this if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Congratulations on the nomination David, and congratulations to all the hipster indie girls too. And thanks for posting the list - I'll check 'em all out.

That's a cool article. I don't suppose our gvm election will be ever reformed to runoff

We're assuming all guys go for binder clips then? :)

My wording wasn't clear, I meant the fans of the hipster indie girls would be splitting their votes among you hipster indie girls while the smaller group of binder clip fans would be voting for me.

I'm not sure how those groups break down on gender lines, but it actually looks like the boys will be voting for the more sexually explicit hipster girls, while the hipster girls seem to be big on the binder clip series.

Sexually explicit hipster indie girls everywhere *love* binder clips. It's a defining characteristic.

Should I be insulted that I've been ponked with a label ending in "ster"?

If the Chuck Taylor's fit...

Megan, would a "master winetaster" be insulted?

But maybe someone else could help out here. If I call someone a hipster am I more likely to be complimenting them or insulting them?

Okay, I'm not someone else, but here goes.

I think it depends on whether they want to be part of the group or not.

And how snarky the tone with which you say "hipster" or the not-quite-as-popular-but-still-effective "scenester" makes a difference.

But I would never expect you to be snarky, David.

I'm currently polling master winetasters to see how they feel about this.
