Uses for Binder Clips - Making Eric Clapton's Guitar

luthier using binder clips to clamp mahogany kerfing to rosewood sides

Zoom sent me this a couple of weeks ago and I keep forgetting to post it:

I bought a discarded library book the other day called Clapton's Guitar. After I got it home I was looking at the photographs illustrating the making of the guitar. I thought of you immediately when I saw this one, but it took me the better part of a week to get around to scanning it. I hope you like it.

I do like it. I see on Wikipedia, that Clapton was ranked fourth in Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time"[Source] If his luthier hadn't used binder clips, he probably would have only been fifth or sixth.

I'm so happy that one of the blogs I read has this running theme, and that I therefore have cause to get excited about seeing binder clips on Clapton's guitar. Thank you.

And I'm so happy that you feel this way. Every now and then I get the feeling that I'm the only one who cares about binder clips. But then Zoom sends me a photo and I get a positive response from a reader.

Thank you.
