New Grouchos on Gladstone

I spotted these Grouchos nailed to phone poles on Gladstone yesterday.

On the south side, just east of Bronson.

Neat! ... why are they called Grouchos?

They are named after Real Grouchy. Another blogger with an interest in guerilla street art.

How do you know it's art and not advertising? Maybe it's some kind of public health campaign: maybe the government is trying to promote funkiness and art awareness, the way they promote good bus-riding etiquette and proper hand-washing techniques.

Jennifer, you ask a challenging question.

Could it be both art and advertising?
