Dust in the Wind Contest

Haz wants me to have another contest, and if I can do something to make Haz happy I will. He writes:

Dust in the Wind by Kansas is the saddest song that I know (I am sure there are others that I do not know) But amazingly, it has been used almost concurrently in three commercials...
Here's an excerpt from the lyrics:
[Now] Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky It slips away, and all your money won't another minute buy. Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind
The Contest To win a prize do any one or more of the following:
  1. Identify any of the three commercial products currently or recently advertised with Dust in the Wind;
  2. Identify another current or recent product advertised with an inappropriate song; or
  3. Suggest an even less appropriate (genuine and advertised on TV) product and (Billboard Top 100 charting) song combination.
The Prizes
  • Winners will receive something of low commercial value, but that I think you'll like.

How about happy-go-lucky couples and families enjoying their cruise vacations while this Iggy Pop song plays in the background:

Here comes johnny yen again
With the liquor and drugs
And the flesh machine
He’s gonna do another strip tease.
Hey man, where’d ya get that lotion?
I’ve been hurting since I’ve bought the gimmick
About something called love
Yeah, something called love.
Well, that’s like hypnotizing chickens.

Well, I’m just a modern guy
Of course, I’ve had it in the ear before.
I have a lust for life
’cause of a lust for life

I always thought that one was a little odd.

J, that is a definite winning entry. I'm sure Haz would agree (if he's still reading).

I've got an idea for a prize for you and hope to have it ready soon.

I'd been thinking I'd announce the closing of this contest with no winners, but now I think I'll keep it open a bit longer.

I've seen the ad for the Subaru B9 Tribeca which features Dust In The Wind. The tune was WAY more enjoyable when sung by Will Ferrell in "Old School".

Accidental Altruist, you are the second winner! Congratulations. I'll have your prize for you next week.
