"Never run to a fight"

I found this quote from an Ottawa Police Officer in a UofO alumni magazine today. It's the unexpected gem that makes me read just about any magazine I come across.

An old, old, old police officer taught me to never run to a fight. I walk and I watch because if there's a knife or anything going on, I'm going to see it. If you're running, everbody runs with you and it gets their anxiety up. Calm equals calm and panicky equals panicky.
