We're Black and We're Proud
Did you know that in the southern US, a new term used to surreptitiously refer to African Americans by non-African Americans is "Canadian" as in:
...a subversively good defense by Matt Hennessey that had some Canadians on the jury feeling sorry for the defendant . . . .
The funny thing is that we know about this because a non-African American prosecutor put this in an email because she thought it was possible there'd be some Canadians on a Harris County, Texas jury and Canadians are known for their leniency in criminal matters. [A CBC story.]
