I made a movie about a squirrel

This squirrel was eating mountain ash berries last Saturday. I think this means the squirrel was very, very hungry.

Because mountain ash berries do not taste good.

Wizard in a Jar

I made a new piece of found object art today.

Several years ago, I got a wizard in a Kinder Egg. Almost right away, I realized he was likely involved with the pirates tangling with the giant squid in my table art piece. I thought about burning another hole in the table, but fortunately before I did that, I checked the height of the wizard and discovered that with his hat on, he was taller than the depth of the table.

So the wizard has languished until today when I realized I could combine him with broken glass I've been saving and a craft involving a Mason jar, Epsom salts and dollar store lights from the Art of Doing Stuff.

Now the wizard has a home. Unfortunately, I don't believe he is comfortable in it.

Meldigast returned to consciousness in a strange and frigid landscape…

Lantern and LED Tea Candle

A business that I shall not name in this posting has two of these lanterns on the sidewalk by their entrance. Nice big lanterns with tiny dim LED tea candles.

It is not a look I endorse, but I'm having trouble coming up with a pithy way to say just what is wrong with it.

It does seem that the dollar store where they probably bought the little lights let these people down.

Uses for Binder Clips: Chip Bag Hangers

Everyone knows you can use binder clips to reseal your chip bags.

But did it occur to you that you can also use them to hang chip bags in your pantry and thereby free up space for lentils and make it easier to see what there is to snack on?

An everyday essential at the Real Canadian Superstore

You might be interested in knowing that you can buy sandwich cutters at the Real Canadian Superstore in Westboro. Apparently they are "everyday essentials".

Next to them, you can buy cupcake corers. They are not being marketed as everyday essentials. This might be a sign that the cupcake fad is on the way out.

Seasonal items for sale at the Superstore

Manon tells me that when a certain young man was much younger, she had a rule:

  • He was not allowed to talk about Hallowe'en until after his birthday in September, and
  • He was not allowed to talk about Christmas until after Hallowe'en.

It's a good thing we didn't bring him grocery shopping to the Real Canadian Superstore tonight.
This stuff was across from the Hallowe'en costumes and next to these cute little owl figures.
