Uses for Binder Clips - Hallowe'en

Have I ever mentioned that I lead a charmed life?

The latest proof of this came yesterday when, not one, but two beautiful women came to my Hallowe'en party sporting binder clips as part of their costumes.

Perhaps you are thinking this could happen at any Hallowe'en party, and you are correct. However, in this case it was no accident. Each of these women, independently and without consultation asked themselves "What would David Scrimshaw want?" and came up with binder clips as the answer.

They were absolutely right. Of course.

The world would be a better place if more of you, before doing anything, asked: "What would David Scrimshaw want?"

(And for the record, guests at the party who and came up with "fishnet stockings" as an answer were not necessarily wrong.)

Thank you! It was created from a piece of sari fabric, a silk scarf and one dozen pink binder clips. The clips did not worry me at all - they even held up when I danced to the Time Warp! Your party was super, as usual.

Not that I want to sound pedantic, but on the box of 100 multi-colored binder clips (as you call them) that I just bought for my library it reads: 100 fold back clips. I wonder what else people call these little marvels that allow me to keep my papers safe from windstorms…

Marcie, you make it sound easy, but the fact is: you are a fashion genius!

Psychic Librarian, this is interesting. I have a container from Staples that simply calls them "binder clips" (or "pinces reliuses" in French), but I have a box from Grand & Toy that calls them "fold-back binder clips".

While I knew that some Brit-influenced types call them
"bulldog clips", I had no idea that "fold-back clips" was out there.

I may have to research this further and do a follow-up post.
