The Unofficial Blue Skies Music Festival Lineup 2011
[Update: Here is the 2012 version]
The Blue Skies Music Festival in Clarendon Ontario has no website and does not announce its lineup in advance.
However, a little work on Google has turned up a number of artists who say they will be there this year.
- Ball and Chain (reliable sources tell me they are participating in a workshop)
- Callum Graham
- Danny Michel
- David Ross Macdonald
- Ferron (not confirmed on her website. Pollstar says she’ll be there. )
- Fred Penner
- Kim Churchill
- Lehera - songs
- Magoo (no indication that he’ll be at Blue Skies on his website, but come on.)
- Matt Anderson
- Saritah - youtube

I've learned not to trust the Environment Canada forecast even for 1 day in advance when it comes to Blue Skies. It rained for most of Friday until the late afternoon!
Some other artists who were at Blue Skies this year:
- Jonathan Byrd (the fantastic cowboy singer from North Cackalacky)
- Fred Penner (the 20-somethings went berzerk over him)
- Marky Weinstock (performed in children's area on Sunday at 10am)
- Boffin + Wonk - Performers at Blue Skies 2011 - video collection
- Youtube - The Parade

Wow... Way to come through!
thanks a lot!
Looks like Facebook may actually be finally catching up to you Scrim. There is a group with over 300 members now. Anyway, I'm glad Blue Skies still relies on the old post-office for their marketing and communications. But, maybe that's just me.
The Facebook group must explain why I've had only a couple of people ask me how to get tickets this year.
Hi David ,names Pete Bunnett from Ompah. A great frustration for me (who's a music glutton but stil have to ration my time) is the lack of a website for blue skies with the weekends line up . Have you questioned anybody about that. I know Joel thinks its unimportant . Wil I learn anymore about the artists by signing up for facebok. .Hope to run into you this year. PB
Hi Pete,
A funny thing is that I kind of agree with Joel.
Usually when people ask me who's playing Blue Skies, I tell them I don't know and it doesn't matter, because the main stage performers are not at all why I go.
I put together this list because I thought it might enhance my Blues Skies experience if I went to the artists' sites and got exposed to their music in advance.
Unfortunately, I've had no time for that and will be experiencing the performers who are new to me for the first time this weekend.
Oh, and the Facebook Group?
As far as I can tell it's mostly people trying to score rides or camping passes.
I didn't see anything about performers there.
You might as well hold out for Google Plus.
Hey David nice blog, just wondering if you are allowed to have your vehicle at the campsite, also where are the best campsites as far as bugs and noise
Thanks,
Richard
Hi Richard,
Vehicle: Only if it is a camper and they have specific places for campers.
Best Noisy Campsite: High Meadow?
Best Bugs: Swamp?
Honestly. I never even try to suss out the lineup ahead of time, and don't really care. There are always at least a) one artist I'm super-excited about, b) two I've never heard of I end up really liking, c) some sort of fusion thing that sounds terribly ill advised but turns out to be awesome and d) someone whomever I am sitting next to is crazy-go-nuts for that I'm lukewarm about.
Oh, well. Who cares? The music is always fantastic, and the people are always great. Just got home with my husband and eighteen-month-old (his second time!) from another Blue Skies and am feeling all the love.
Well said, S. Bear. Well said.
Just home as well, and without fail I'm always smiling an feeling the warm fuzzies at all the memories of the weekend. Favourites this year were New Country Rehab, the return of Kim Churchill and of course the return of Matt Anderson. Awesome!
Does anyone know how to contact the organizers of Blue Skies? My son lost $100 at Blue Skies this year, and according to everything I've read about this festival, it seems like the people there would have turned it in... any ideas on how I can find out? Thanks.
