Candela: Ottawa Light Art Show

I'm glad I made it to Candela at the Cube Gallery. The show made me want to make things. Bright, shining, flashing things with moving parts.

Reuel Dechene's hearts with words now use LED Christmas lights and this one, Sweet, has a motion sensor that makes it come on.
I like outer space paintings. This meteor painting by DH Monet reminds me of a comet painting Sonja did recently.
I forgot to get the name and artist of this one. I like the use of fresnel lenses. And any sculpture that's got alligator clips is going to make me happy.

Salt by Sara Lesperance won the the "1st place juries choice award". When you see those salt shakers with little glass beads and led lights inside does it make you think what I'm thinking?

I went with Jane on Friday night, and we had the same reaction: we're going to make some of those pod lanterns.

(By the way, what did those salt shakers with little glass beads and led lights inside make you think?)

I will only give you one clue: burned out lightbulbs.
